Ethics and Development Workshop at MSU. When: All day, Saturday April 11, 2009, beginning at 9:00 AM. Where: Residential College in the Arts and Humanities Theater, Snyder Hall.
The central purpose of this workshop is to examine interdisciplinary inquiry concerning development that combines ethical analysis and empirical research. It is of special interest for graduate students in (or considering) MSU's Graduate Specialization in Ethics and Development, as it will aid them in planning and carrying out their practicum project, but it will be helpful to others as well. Each of the main panels will be followed by breakout sessions and a reconvening of the whole group.

"A shared set of ethical values is the glue that can hold us together during an intense crisis. A key lesson from the SARS outbreak is that fairness becomes more important during a time of crisis and confusion. And the time to consider these questions and processes in relation to a threatened major pandemic is now." - Peter Singer
