The Philosophy Department offers undergraduate courses at several levels.  At the 100-level is the groundwork course in logic and critical thinking. The 200-level courses have no prerequisites, and they introduce students to the discipline of philosophy-to classic philosophical texts, views, vocabulary, modes of argument. 300-level courses also have no prerequisites, and introduce students to philosophy as it connects with the social and political, the professions, moral and ethical issues, logic and language, and the various kinds of sciences. At the 400-level are the advanced courses designed for students who have taken a number of philosophy courses and have a serious interest in philosophy including in particular, philosophy majors; these are open to all students who satisfy the pre-requisite requirements.
