Ma. Philosophy

University of Belgrade - Serbia

Coming from one of the former Yugoslavian Republics, I early realized that reality is opaque, and that there are inherent inconsistencies in our grasp of the world and the facts around us. Constantly watching adults being confident in their unsuccessful forecasts brought me to the conclusion that events present themselves in a distorted and deceiving way. Intellectually, I am deeply versed in classical philosophy and the search for meaning around us. However, my own life and the lives of everyone who survived (and did not) in our struggling part of the world has been a living testimonial to a philosophy of the absurd. We have confronted firsthand the needs of clarification of human value regardless of race, religion or economics as well as the boundaries of personal freedom and the role of governments to violate them.
